kid with a vinyl is an independent blog devoted to sharing new music from around the world. it is updated every friday with new song reviews, a new album review, or an occasional long essay revisiting an album released over the last decade (we call these “kwav revisited”). we are admittedly a bit partial towards dream pop and post punk, but we absolutely love it all; since 2014, our posts have spanned countless genres and micro-genres like chillwave, psych rock, and glitch pop. we do not “grade” music with numerical ratings or stars – if we write about it, we hold it in high regard.
why are we called kid with a vinyl?
here are a few album reviews that i am particularly proud of, and feel capture our particular focus – a kwav “sampler,” if you will:

I do not own any pictures of album covers, the pictures of the actual bands or band members, or the YouTube videos I post on this website. Whenever a photo has a direct photographer, I will always link to their website or social media account. Otherwise, the photos come from record labels, the artist themselves, or the artist's social media, to which I will also always give credit.

Hey!
This is the new song from our EP, premiering on Blahblahblahscience. We are filming a music video for ‘Mysterion’ with Chicagoan director Ryan Ohm (Twin Peaks, Modern Vices) this weekend and we are touring Europe this July. We hope you dig the song and thank you for your time as always!
Thank you for sharing! Love “Mysterion,” can’t wait for the video!
