After Beach Baby released the stunning track “No Mind No Money” last year, I was immediately entranced and impatient for the full-length album, perhaps so much so that when it was finally released last week, ironically, it completely went over my head. The British 4-piece specialize in a rare medley of shoegaze, grunge, and pure indie pop, effortlessly mixing together the ideas of hard and soft to create highly emotional, yet wonderfully carefree tracks. “Hot Weather,” a cleaner, more underrated cut from the album, fits into this description exceptionally well, with gorgeously gruff vocals to top it all off. No Mind No Money is out now, and it’s definitely worth a listen.
