New York based band Small Black have announced that their new album Best Blues will be released on October 16th. Their particular brand of synthpop and chillwave almost spills over into electronica throughout this album, especially in the haunting single “Boys Life.” The track spends a majority of time delicately building up to the breathtaking chorus, in which the vocals swell and ease into a sense of melancholic bliss. While the band has said that this album is more solemn than their past work, it’s always a treat whenever a particularly dismal track has a euphoric mindset, and “Boys Life” takes on exactly that. It’s an addictive track for sure, and is a great representative of what this album has to offer. You can stream Best Blues in it’s entirety here, via NPR.
