Broods – “Mother & Father”

Broods really made a dent in the indie electronic music scene last year with their single “Bridges,” an emotional, yet powerful track with Georgia Nott’s breathtakingly gorgeous voice. The brother/sister duo from New Zealand have finally released their debut album Evergreen, with single “Mother & Father.” It has all the influence and techniques already used in “Bridges,” but there’s more tenacity and passion brought on with the pounding drums, with an added essence of vulnerability so thick you could cut it with a knife. It’s clear that the sibling mentality plays a clear part in this musical relationship, because everything sounds so fluid and clear, without the need of too many complex components. Broods have only just begun, and their steady rise in popularity will only increase as word of this wonderful album spreads.
