Generationals are an indie rock band composed of duo Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer. Their accessible, simple music is composed of light, breezy guitar pop with minimal drumming and distraction, and overall it sounds joyous and poppy. It aims to please, which means that they try to sample a little bit of everything without overdoing it. In this track titled “Spinoza,” Generationals does exactly that. The vocals are on point, the drumming is smooth, and the poppy, bright guitar is the prime superstar throughout the whole thing. It has an aura of mystery and darkness towards the chorus and bridge, giving it an extra twist. “Spinoza” is from Generationals’ third album Heza, which was released in 2013.
