Fear of Men – “Descent”

homepage_large.203e0081Indie pop band Fear of Men is composed of Jessica Weiss on guitar and vocals, Daniel Falvey on guitar, and Michael Miles on drums. Their dream pop aesthetic is a breath of fresh air, and I’m so glad I discovered them. Their music has that sort of airy, dreamlike sense about it and their songs tend to fill the room with a feeling of gorgeous wistfulness. In this song titled “Descent,” Jessica Weiss’s beautiful voice floats and drifts upon waves of colorful, vivid guitar melodies and kept stable by the steady drumming. The lyrics are deep and personal, yet delicately hidden underneath the nostalgic instrumentals. “Descent” is from Fear of Men’s debut studio album Loom, which was released this year. The album has really impressed me and I’m excited to see the band’s journey into popularity and success, which I’m sure they will achieve.
