Boy & Bear are an Australian indie folk band with little quirks that separate them from the others. They take pure rock style riffs and beats and merge them with distinct choral interludes that burst into harmonies before your very ears. They do a nice job of keeping it indie while still managing to cultivate a specialized, concentrated folk sound, which is pretty impressive. Boy & Bear have had two studio albums so far, and have been featured on Triple J and have won numerous awards, so they must be doing something right. “Southern Sun” evokes a sense of motivation and renewal, and you can check it out on their new album Harlequin Dream, which was released last year.
