Fossil Collective mixes together some of the best parts of both indie alternative music and indie folk music and turns it into something remarkably beautiful. The two members of the band (David Fendick and Jonny Hooker) cultivate a sound so rich and focused that it seems as if there were more than just the two of them. Their voices mesh together so well and their music as a whole definitely has a smooth, almost tranquil feel to it. They have mentioned that their inspiration stems from classic artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, but then also has contemporary input as well, like Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. In this song titled “Wolves,” you can really hear the melancholy sounds that come with those other indie artists, and it’s simply gorgeous. “Wolves” is from Fossil Collective’s 2013 debut album Tell Where I Lie.
