San Fermin – “Sonsick”

homepage_large.01dce7ceOne of my best friends showed me this song ages ago, and I only just recently rediscovered it and realized it’s true beauty. The song is euphoric and utilizes avant garde musical techniques like baroque type instruments such as the trumpet and explosive, dynamic vocals. San Fermin was the project of Ellis Ludwig-Leone after he had graduated from Yale University where he had studied composition, and his natural talent mixed with his ivy league education proved to be beneficial. His arrangements are complex and convoluted, but in the best way possible. “Sonsick” is a powerful wave of sound, one with triumphant bursts and bittersweet lyrics beautifully sung by Rae Cassidy, and truly shows this band’s unexpected fluidity and unique skill. San Fermin’s self-titled album was released in 2013.

Thank you for the amazing song, S.
