Everything Everything – “Final Form”

220px-ManalivealbumcoverJonathan Higgs’s dreamy falsetto voice is as incendiary as it is calming. As the lead singer of Everything Everything, he really pushes the band in the right direction and his voice really drew me in from the very beginning, along with their lucid yet complex guitar riffs. Their music has a very 90’s grunge feel, where it always seems like it’s bordering and tilting into the heavy metal direction, but never does so completely, no matter how many blasts of the cymbals or tear of the guitars occurs. This subtle tease makes Everything Everything a force to be reckoned with in the indie world. Their main inspiration comes from Nirvana and Radiohead, which, as I mentioned a bit before, is definitely heard in both Higgs’s falsetto voice and their amazing guitar melodies. “Final Form” is from Everything Everything’s 2010 debut album, Man Alive.
