Beck has really impressed everyone with the recent release of his new album Morning Phase, seeing as though it was a comeback of sorts for the talented indie musician. It has been six whole years since the release of Modern Guilt, and since then a whole lot has happened. He nursed a back injury that left him temporarily unable to hold an instrument, but also did studio work and released EPs. The fact that it has been so long adds to the idea that Morning Phase is more of a highly introspective album than anything else. This haunting, dark imagery that one often thinks of when delving into their own personal ideas and most importantly, the inner workings of their mind, is clearly heard in a popular track off his new album, titled “Wave.” Some can even attest to the fact that it houses some bits and pieces of Radiohead as well. Morning Phase has received countless positive reviews, and Beck has been a front runner in the indie world for some time now, so it definitely wouldn’t hurt to check him out.
