Today is cold and rainy, a perfect day to listen to all kinds of music. This song by Daughter titled “Landfill” is the perfect combination of dark and sweet, with haunting drum and guitar interludes. Elena Tonra’s voice is breathy and honeyed, one that can almost give you goosebumps. The lyrics are sad yet oddly beautiful, saying that “this is dangerous, and I want you so much, but I hate your guts, I hate you.” It is definitely a unique song and I love it so much. “Landfill” is from Daughter’s EP, His Young Heart, released in 2011.
