Paul Dixon of David’s Lyre has an alternative style voice with the guitar riffs to back it up. This English musician has really made a name for himself while he was doing covers of Ellie Goulding and Marina and the Diamonds, then soon came out with an album of his own in 2012 that was released through bandcamp. “English Roses” is an uplifting yet melancholy song meant to be listened to while driving through countrysides and having the wind through your hair. Or, if you can’t do that, it is just as good when you’re sitting alone in a library (which I may or may not be doing right now). David’s Lyre’s album, Picture of Our Youth, came out on February 13, 2012, and the whole album really is amazing.
